Disclaimer

Every tool here produces an estimate. This page says what each kind of estimate is worth, and where it is likely to differ from what you actually get.

The general case

A calculator knows only what you typed into it. It does not know your contract, the policy of your company, your local ordinance, or the exception that applies to your situation. Where the number matters, treat what you get here as a first check — a way to know roughly what to expect, and to spot when something is badly wrong — then confirm it against the primary source.

Payroll and employment

Statutory minimums are exactly that: minimums. Many employers are more generous than the law requires, and a computation that follows company policy will not match one that follows the Labor Code. Collective bargaining agreements, industry rules and regional wage orders can all change the answer.

If your payslip disagrees with a figure here, that alone does not mean the payslip is wrong. Ask your HR or payroll department to show you the computation.

Government contributions

Contribution schedules are set by circular and they change. These tools apply the schedule in force for the period you ask about, but SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG each publish their own tables, and those tables are the authority. Where a tool holds no schedule covering the period you ask about, it refuses to answer rather than guessing. That is a check on the PERIOD, not on the figures: a schedule this site holds may still be awaiting confirmation against the issuance that set it, and the issuance is always the authority.

Retirement and pensions

A pension estimate here is worked from the figures you type in. SSS computes your average monthly salary credit from your actual contribution record — every month you were posted, at the credit that applied then — and this site cannot see that record. Enter a different salary credit and every figure changes. Only SSS can tell you what you will actually receive, and only your own record decides it.

Two things are easy to miss and both change the answer by a lot. The monthly pension is worked on a salary credit that is capped below the level contributions are collected on, so paying more does not raise the formula pension beyond that ceiling. And the pension is the highest of three statutory formulas, which one governing depends on your length of service — a figure quoted from a single formula can be wrong without looking wrong.

Voluntary savings programmes such as MP2 pay a dividend that is declared after the financial year and has never been guaranteed. The rate on that page is an assumption you chose, not a promise by anyone, and a projection carried over years compounds whatever assumption you made.

Tax

Tax tools follow the general rules for the period. They do not account for every deduction, exemption, treaty, substituted filing arrangement, or the effect of income from more than one source. They are not a substitute for a return prepared by an accountant, and they are not a BIR ruling.

Loans, savings and projections

Interest and amortisation tools use the terms you enter. An actual bank quotation includes fees, insurance, documentary stamp tax and its own rounding conventions, so an offer letter will normally differ from a schedule computed here.

Projection tools — savings, investment, and anything compounding forward over years — assume the constant rate you chose. That is a modelling convenience, not a forecast. Returns are not guaranteed, past performance says nothing about future performance, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy or hold anything.

Health

Health tools are general reference figures, not a medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment plan. BMI in particular is a crude population measure: it does not distinguish muscle from fat, and it is a poor guide for athletes, for children, during pregnancy, and for older adults. Speak to a doctor about your own health rather than to a calculator.

Developer tools

The generators and formatters run entirely in your browser and send nothing anywhere. That also means we cannot recover anything for you — a generated password you did not save is gone.

Advertising

This site is intended to be supported by display advertising. Advertisements, when they run, are not endorsements, and advertisers have no influence over the figures a calculator produces or over the content of any guide.

Reporting an error

If you think a tool is wrong, tell us through the contact page and say what you entered and what you expected. A wrong figure is the most serious defect this site can have, and it is fixed ahead of anything else.
